[These photos are of spiders at work in my tree garden. As far as I know, the spiders in the first and third photo are NOT the same. For all my spider enthusiast Readers out there–I have more spiders and webs to show you in another post. All photos and other content in my blog, Sometimes are original to me, Gradmama2011 …and remain my property under copyright laws.]

Ah…..Yes! Fascinating little – or not so little creatures. 😉

When this spider built her web in my tree garden I immediately was in love! Spiders are so cool, and it is not often that I have seen a complete under-construction web. This seems an especially good year for spiders. 🙂

thank you so much… I am just delighted with the way my photos came out. The biggest issue was taking shots at something that is invisible…I think the success or failure depends on the light source reflecting from the web.

If that was my garden they’d be dead by now! LOL

my son is under a fatality warning to leave this web alone until I’m finished taking pictures of it. LOL I do hope it doesn’t catch one of my cats in its web.

I’d be worried the spider will catch your son in it’s web!

That is some powerful string, Gradmama. You get the glint and the spider so well!
And I really do like your new theme, too. Sharp!

thanks for commmenting. I did get a lot of shots that did not show the web at all. There are a lot of shadows, and not enough variation of positions. A lot was due to timing. The first ones I took at night. but I did manage to get some when the sunlight was hitting, and I experimented somewhat with angles…but some of those shots were ruined by blurring. I want to put up some new ones with good reflections.

I find that angles mean everything with my iPhone, but with your camera, I know it’s more precise, Gradmama. Keep going with it! The spider and web are awesome.
