above the church
spire
shadowing the path
to inside of the rectory door.maiden
silently on tiptoe
enters eagerly
in the dark
removes her hoodmoments pass slowly in darkness
the King’s Son arrives in good time
bearing treasures for his love
the wedding guests assume their places
