thanks…these are from three years ago. the yellow is one of my favorites. 🙂

we had a variety of the prickly pear that lived in the ground here in Ohio…it became overwhelmed with grass and weeds that defied removal, and died after a few years. It would have a dozen flowers on it at a time.

They are quite a delicacy, once the pickers are removed they can be fried or stewed, or whatever. I haven’t eaten any that I recall.

I would love to have some of these. The first one is too weird to be described as beautiful, but it is definitely interesting. Others are beautiful. Yellow is my favorite. Thanks for sharing.

thanks, I like the yellow a lot too. these are desert plants, near a buioding and cultivated, but I have seen the desert in bloom…usually mid-April. I do love the desert.
