In order: Bob, Toby, Bog, Moby, Moby, and Guess Who? Wrong— its Tinkerbell.
Bob and Toby are still around in March of 2021, Moby and Tinkerbell both died in 2017, respectively 17 years and 19 years. (All photos © Sometimes 2021)
Bob—used to be “Baby” but prefers being Bob. Nap Time Moby the Maine Coon Tinkerbell.
It looks like you were highly successful! I liked the cat photos.

Thanks, Anne. Now that Alice is older she is looking more and more like Tinkerbell did in her last year or so.
I changed my mind about the WordPress Editor, there are really some excellent features. Once I stop screaming and kicking, I’m a fairly fast learner.
I’m trying to go through my photo collection, which goes back to long before Bob died back in 2000. His photo shoots predated digital camera, so we have zillions of slides.

Going through your slide collection would be quite a project. Good luck.

I did convert about half of my old slides, with a digital slide converter. It worked great, well worth the time and effort, and reasonable cost. Mine is a few years old, I wonder if there is a newer and better one on the market.

The scanner I used to convert slides to digital files broke after I finished converting all of mine. A few years later we bought a gadget that was specifically for scanning slides, and it was pure garbage. John would like to convert some of his dad’s slides, but I’m not interested unless we know it works well.

I[m going to get the converter down and run some slides through, so I’ll do a post on the procedure. I recall that although I did have some issues, I was thrilled with what I was experiencing. The converter was relatively inexpensive, but it worked just fine.
I need a new project anyway.

Wonderful! I will be eager to read about your converter and how it is working for you. The gadget we bought cost $99 and wasn’t worth two cents.

I just posted it a few minutes ago. The converter still works as well as I remembered. VuPoint Solutions still makes an updated version that appears very much like mine from five years ago.

What kind of digital slide converter did you use? I might check to see if that company still makes them.

I’ll do some details tomorrow. 🙂

I need to go through the same thing.. with both slides and photos on old disks. Keep putting it off.

I bought a “Digital Films/Slide Converter…with rapid feeder.” a couple years ago. It is a wonderful gadget, worked like a charm (more or less) and I converted about half of my slides to digital much more easily than I expected it to be. Mine is a “VuPoint Solutions.”
I need to get out the rest of my slides and convert them and post some of them so they don’t end up in oblivion.

mine I have to feed one-by-one. You one-upped me.

It’s been a few years since I used the scanner, I recall having some issues with it, and my old slides some were slightly warped…but I was so thrilled with the quality level I did reach that I was grateful. I’ll get the thing down and check it out.

I just posted something about the converter. The stack-loader is problematic, but it does keep the slides from slipping around.
